    As of right now the only way to jailbreak and iphone 4,ipod touch 4g or ipad first generattion is a tethered boot. what that means is you will need to connect your device to a computer and boot it using redsnow in order for all of your devices functions to work. I read that an untethered jailbreak is still weeks away. If you are on an iPhone 3GS then you are lucky becaause that is untethered.
